The Master Race and Steam Sales

Out of the darkness comes the master race.   The advantage to being a PC gamer is the sales, that you see on distributors like Steam and this time around has been no different.  I have bought all the major releases in the Assassin’s Creed  series only to wish I was a console gamer at times.

Now the obvious one is, the controller because playing Assassin’s Creed on the keyboard and mouse I should imagine can be quite difficult however this isn’t an issue.  As I have an Xbox 360 controller plugged into my PC and it’s just like gaming on an Xbox.  However the major thing was that for some reason the first Assassin’s Creed was burning up my PC.  Starting to wonder what the hell and then looked in my case its dust.   Vein of all PC users no matter how hard you try you can’t stop that build up of dust so after trying to run the first Assassin’s Creed for a bit and being summer here, I thought best not to push it and went back to playing less taxing game like League of Legends. Annoyed with the fact that I had spent £36 on these 6 games and could only really play the first one for about 2 hours before needing to take a break I thought time do something about it.

So I popped over to trustee amazon and ordered some Air Dusters now this was the first time I’d ever used them and I cannot rave about them enough.  It was great they came next day being an Amazon Prime user and so I went about cleaning my PC with the hover to begin with get the dust I can see and quite proud of myself looked at the CPU, GPU and motherboard now that looks tidy boy was I wrong.  Popped open the Air Duster and followed the instructions bang, there was a light covering that I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t used this air duster. Having finished all that and put everything together again fired up Assassin’s Creed, and what would you know it was running warm but not boiling and I sat back and enjoyed the game for a good couple of hours not need to worry too much about the temperature that my PC was getting to.

The thing that made me realise, although I love my PC and the sales it gives me.  Would I really have this problem if I was a console gamer?  For the most part no, ok you get dust in the consoles but it doesn’t seem to be as bad as a PC and its dedicated for the purpose. I am nowhere near finished any of the games yet however I am working through it slowly and you will see my thoughts as and when I get the game complete.  Another pick up for me was the Tomb Raider game that came out in 2013.  The main reason I haven’t picked up others is because that is 7 games and I still have quite a few on my list for 2014 that I haven’t completed yet. What games have you picked up in the sales?  Have you been doubting being a PC gamer let me know.

I originally started blogging after taking Web Design at University and its just gone from there. I have made a few mistakes on the way and decided to start a fresh due to problems but this is going to be the real deal. Typically talking tech and what matters to me :) Happy reading and keep smiling Stueeey
