It’s probably not known that well on this channel that I really do enjoy the Tycoon games. I spent many hours playing Zoo Tycoon back in the day and much more, but this was part of a bundle that I had bought years ago but I forgot about it.
Which is a shame because the gameplay is so simple yet addictive, and the one game that has some real replay value even though it feels a little short. The problem is the story is based on the generations of the game industry and the speed of the game seems to be quite quickly.
This, however, doesn’t take away from the time that can be invested in the game because as you’re playing the game which is a simple you find little features that you didn’t know what existed. The tutorial pops do a good job of explaining the game but after a while, you start skipping some of the dialogue so you might miss some of the important things.
What I would do to improve this game is to try and add other objectives, expand it from just trying to get the best rating for your game and make the most money. I know that is the aim for Tycoon games but the truth is what the big studios did well with this type of game they gave a scenario for you to do and then they would adjust them. This game doesn’t have that a such you can go through without doing training just about without some smart decisions but having done that and getting to the end of the game, I just want to go back and improve having been given a final score.
Being a techy I constantly wanted to improve the engine every given time but now I’ve got to the end I want to go back and play it again with a different approach to unlocking other aspects of the game to see whether there is a new approach and can get a better score.
I can’t recommend this game high enough for the type of game that you can put down and pick up. It’s a casual strategy that anyone can do and you can try different ways to get success.
