ID Cards in the UK Scrapped
by Stueeeey on Jun.10, 2010, under Current Affairs
Now lets be honest in the world we live in today, with all the emphasis of cutting costs trying to lower the debt that our country is in this is a good place to start. Scrapping the ID scheme means the on going development cost will be saving the government millions of pounds.
Although it will be saving money is it helping us however, I know that people were concerned about privacy issues and the fact someone’s whole identity was on one card but I myself was looking forward to these cards. My reasons are I don’t hold a drivers licence or a passport and don’t think I will any time soon. I hold a Citizen Card however you can guarantee that no matter where we go I’ve got to kick up a fuss to how old I am. The ID cards for me would solve this issue.
The other annoyance about them scrapping the scheme is the fact the people that already have the cards will not be getting a refund.

5 Charged over Malware Scam
by Stueeeey on Jun.01, 2010, under Computers, Current Affairs
If I’m honest this has interested me seeing this unfold, as it stands the authorities have nailed it down to 5 people that benefited from the malware which accumulated into gaining $450,000 illegally with what is known as scare-ware. For you that doesn’t know what scare-ware is, scare-ware would be fake anti-viruses telling you that you have an infected machine and that you need to buy their product in order to remove them.
Although this is has been a regular and everyday thing seeing these sorts of things on the net this is the first time I have noticed that the authorities have actually found the people related to the scare-ware and done something about it. The big question is now though is that they are trying to find the person that installed it on a banks computer. The problem with this is not only should that system of been locked down so these things didn’t happen why would you want to find out who installed it if you have the creators?
The creators are the ones that benefited yes OK there is an off chance that the person installing it knew what they were doing but if they didn’t can they really charge them?
What’s your opinion should the person that installed it be prosecuted even though they might not known what they are doing?

BT are they having a laugh?
by Stueeeey on May.27, 2010, under Computers, Current Affairs, General
As far as I was aware the UK government was trying to push out broadband to everyone and that they also wanted to try and further the broadband quality in the UK. This would not only benefit the country, along with the people that use the services but also the companies that provide it.
While even though the government are trying to push forward the internet in the UK it didn’t stop BT quoting pensioners in Wales £150,000 to put broadband in. Although they were nice enough to offer to put £8,000 towards it. You have got to ask yourself the question why did they even quote the power people that much? Also is it really the pensioners job to pay money for something in the long run will benefit BT more?

Tony Blair and the Iraq Inquiry
by Stueeeey on Jan.31, 2010, under Current Affairs
The big buzz in the UK is the Iraq Inquiry where Tony Blair is getting absolutely ripped apart in the way in which this is going isn’t going to end while which ever way it goes.
Something occurred to me no matter how Blair actually answered the questions he couldn’t win, at the end of the day we have gone to war and not saying I agree with it however we have and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it. All the upset at the moment is the fact that Blair has answered have you regretted going to war and the answer was no.
Now turn it on its head with him saying yes, how would the people who lost love ones really feel. I have a feeling that they would be even more enraged due to the fact it would of meant he was admitting that we shouldn’t of gone to war meaning those soldiers have lost their lives for no reason.
So do you know what we are going to achieve by this inquiry?
Snow
by Stueeeey on Jan.14, 2010, under Current Affairs
Well after nearly a month with Snow something has occurred to me that other countries manage with snow on a day to day basis why are we struggling being the UK. I understand that we do not have this weather often so we are not prepared for it however on reflection today I felt that maybe big companies should put their thinking caps on and become ready for such a problem.
One example for me is Royal Mail, yes I live in a rural area but why don’t they use 4x4s in rural areas keeping the service going as we are a rural village but connected via major roads from each side of it meaning that it isn’t that difficult to get here its just the side streets. The other side of it, our local supermarket the owner actually has an old Land Rover and snow tyres on it so that he can go and get his staff for their shift if they are unable to get in off their own merits regarding the weather.
Do you think Government or larger companies could do more?
I will leave you with some pictures I’ve taken with my new hobby photography:
